Today I felt overwhelmed.

My first thought was to cancel some things during my day and also this vague sense that I’d taken on too much in general and wasn’t cut out for this. I felt paralyzed for a minute.

Then I remembered- These are just thoughts!

I was making my thoughts mean something. I was resisting feeling overwhelmed, which only made me more uncomfortable.

After a minute I started to feel more relaxed. I remembered that I am okay just as I am. It was okay to feel a little overwhelmed. I remembered that it is maddening to try and fight life and make it always be okay. To think that I need to feel good 100% of the time.

I was putting meaning to that brief thought of overwhelm and when I did it prevented me from freedom and resting where I am.

Luckily I am aware of the nature of thought and recognized that thought and feeling for what it was.

I allowed myself to have my experience without my experience having me.

The overwhelm moved on.

I had new thoughts and with the new thought came new feelings.

The same is true for you.

You can have your experience without your experience having you.

There is nothing you need to do to return to peace. Peace is always there. And when you stop resisting feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or panicky you’ll be one step closer to calm.

I would LOVE to help you find freedom from anxiety and allow all thoughts and feelings to flow easily. Set up a free discovery call, join my next course, or see if any 1:1 coaching spots are available.
