On not being afraid of the human experience

Sydney Banks once wrote, “If the only thing people learned was not to be afraid of their experience, that alone would change the world.”

I have so much more joy, ease, and flow in my life now that I’m not afraid of my anxiety. Now that I know I can handle anything no matter what my feelings (even the scary ones) are free to come and go.

I don’t need to prepare for the worst because I know that the gentle boss, wisdom, will tell me what to do in any situation.

We all have innate wisdom. It’s like a gentle flute that we sometimes can’t hear over the loud brass band of anxious overthinking. But it’s always there and when you stop resisting your experience (good, bad, and everything in between) you can hear it clearly.
